McQueen Forever

In my dreams we would have met, and i would have been able to show you what i could do. Your approval is what i design for, your genius is what i aspire to. I will miss you terribly...

i feel sick...

... with awe and amazement that is. Tara Donovan's work makes me feel like i just shot 5 espresso's and smoked a 20pack of Marlboro Reds. So. Fucking. Good.

The majority of her installation work is the creation of form by repetition, through the use of everyday materials such as styrofoam cups, paper and scotch tape. Her works invoke images of naturally occurring terrains and topography. The neutral palette lends even further to the resemblance of landscapes.

Although the idea of taking many of one thing to make something else is not a new one, i can't help but be drawn further into drawing parallels between Donovan's work and Chemistry; the branch of science concerned with the properties and interactions of the substances of which matter is composed.

Or am i alone on that interpretation?

valentino!?

Where to start... Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have really steered the house in a fresher direction. The looks are braver, and haven't completely turned their cheek from the house that Garavani built. Can't wait to see what Fall brings...
